9-1-1 Call of Stabbing results in Officer Involved Shooting
On Thursday, May 31, 2018 at approximately 7:34 AM, Fullerton Police Dispatch received a 9-1-1 call regarding a female armed with a knife at a therapist’s office in the 1600 block of E. Chapman. A second 9-1-1 caller stated that she had just been stabbed by one of her patients.
Two Fullerton Police Officers arrived within 4 minutes of the original call and they immediately entered the therapist’s office. The suspect had barricaded herself in an office with the 40-year-old therapist. Fullerton Police Officers forced entry and confronted the female suspect, who was armed with a knife, at which point an officer involved shooting occurred.
A knife was recovered at the scene.
Officers on scene immediately began providing medical aid to the suspect, however, she was pronounced deceased at the scene by Fullerton Fire.
The female therapist had wounds consistent with being assaulted with a knife and she was immediately transported to a local trauma center with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Orange County District Attorney’s Office is investigating the Officer Involved Shooting, as is standard protocol.
The deceased suspect’s identity will be released by the Orange County Coroner.
