FPD Arrests Two Suspects in Patio Store Burglary

On January 16th, 2018, the Fullerton Police Department released CCTV footage from a commercial theft that occurred at a Patio Furniture store in the 2800 block of Imperial Highway in Fullerton. In the CCTV footage, an unknown female can be seen carrying various items, including a large fake Deer, throughout the store. FPD asked for the public’s help in identifying the female seen stealing the items.

Last night at approximately 10:26 PM, Fullerton Police Officers responded to ...a call of a possible burglary in progress at the same Patio Furniture store in the 2800 block of Imperial Highway. As officers arrived at the business, they saw two suspects, a male later identified as Steven MARTIN (23, Whittier), and a female later identified as Summer SEVERIN (30, Whittier), attempting to steal patio furniture from the store.

MARTIN and SEVERIN saw the officers and they fled on foot towards the rear of the business. Officers quickly set a perimeter and they located both suspects, who were taken into custody as they were attempting to flee on foot into Craig Park.

MARTIN and SEVERIN were placed under arrest for various felony grand theft charges, felon in possession of tear gas, possession of a controlled substance, parole violations and various outstanding warrants. They were both booked into the Fullerton City Jail.

Detectives are working to confirm the pair’s involvement in previous reported thefts from the business, and the investigation is on-going.
