FPD Arrests Four Burglarly Suspects Armed with a Handgun
On Saturday, April 8, 2017 at approximately 9:02 PM, Fullerton Police Dispatch received a report of a burglar alarm in the 500 block of Lakeside Drive. As officers arrived near the residence, they saw two males fleeing the area.
The officers immediately requested additional resources and a large perimeter was set up to in an effort to locate the individuals seen fleeing the area.
During their search of the surrounding area, officers saw a suspicious vehicle leaving the area. ...Officers stopped the vehicle, which was occupied by a male adult driver, a female adult passenger on parole, and a 15-year-old female. During their search of the vehicle, officers located burglary tools as well as a handgun.
After an exhaustive search on foot, officers also located a fourth male suspect. Evidence found on the male connected him to the residential burglary as well.
After further investigation, Jason Lamar Buchanan (28, Long Beach), Ronell Decarl Lee Jr. (19, Long Beach) and Crystal Shuntanee Chavis-Lopez (28, Canyon Country) were placed under arrest for suspicion of residential burglary, possession of burglary tools, and weapons possession. They were all booked at the Fullerton City Jail.
State Law prevents law enforcement from releasing information on juveniles arrested for crimes. However, a 15-year-old female was also arrested and transported to Orange County Juvenile Hall as well.
